For close to two year, I was the Scrum Master at TechnipFMC. This is a global oil and gas multinational operating in 48 countries with over 37,000 employees, utilising both SAP & Oracle ERP systems. Their Operational headquarters were based in Paris, France.
The Agile methodology was adopted by the company to improve the delivery of enhancements to the ERP system. Previously, the more traditional waterfall approach was being used to deliver these. However, using this approach it was found the delivery time was far to excessive and when enhancements were eventually deployed into Production, an unacceptable number of these failed.
With the company adopting the Agile approach, we significantly improved the quality & speed of which enhancements were delivered to the business.
My particular responsibilities as Scrum Master in all this included the following activities:
• Working with sprint team members globally, across a broad range of different cultures and varying stakeholders, ensuring on average 15-20 sprints in progress at any one time.
• Setting up and facilitating the Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives).
• Mentoring and coaching team members in the Agile values and methodology.
• Championing the use of Agile as a framework of working practices within the Project Delivery and Development teams for enhancements.
I would welcome the opportunity to introduce Agile to your organisation. Some of my skills that I can bring to ensure its success are:
